Get more out of your money

The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and you may not get back the full amount you invest.

Money can’t buy happiness, but it definitely makes life easier. If you’re looking for ways to make your money go further, we’ve got a few ideas.

Take a close look at your spending

We all know that there could be savings to be made by switching providers, but just how often do we do it? If you want to get more out of your money, you need to be sure that you’re getting the best deal you can.

So set aside an evening to put pen to paper and write down which companies you’ve been with for a while. Then get to work to see how much you could save on your monthly outgoings.

Get a side hustle

Maybe you spend your weekends revamping old furniture or customising clothing on your days off. Whatever you love to do during your spare time, there’s the potential to make extra money if you want to.

Whether that’s by setting up an online store or asking family and friends if they’d be interested in buying something you’ve made, a side hustle could be a way to make your money go further while doing the things you love.

Buy more time

Depending on your money goals and the things you value, giving up time outside of work might not be worth it. If working on a side hustle isn’t for you, why not use your money to buy extra time for yourself instead?

With advances in technology, there are more time-saving devices than ever: robot vacuum cleaners, dishwashers and slow cookers can all save you precious hours. Rather than using the time you save to do other chores, use it to do something you enjoy.
