What is the business climate campaign?

This new campaign is run by the government, with support from green groups and partners. It’s part of a massive global effort to tackle climate change.

The aim is to bring businesses together in a shared commitment to halve our carbon emissions by 2030 and to achieve NetZero emissions before 2050. Net zero means we’re putting no more carbon into the atmosphere than we’re taking out.

And to support every business on this journey, the government has set up a dedicated climate hub for small businesses, with advice and resources.

The first step is making the climate commitment and joining us in the Race to Zero.

Why join the campaign?

No matter how small your business or what industry you’re in, your commitment to cut emissions can make a real difference – to your energy bills, your business, your customers, your community, and the planet!

When you join the campaign, the team will get in touch with tools to help you understand your emissions, how to cut them, and how to share what you’re doing. They’ll also keep you up to date with the latest ideas and incentives to help you meet your commitment.

With limited time left to tackle climate change and COP26 taking place in Glasgow in November, there’s never been a better time to get involved.

Grow your business

It can be hard to think as far as 2030 when we’re all building back from coronavirus. But cutting emissions can mean saving money and give you a competitive advantage today.

Plan ahead

Things are changing. For example, by 2030 you won’t be able to buy new petrol and diesel cars and vans in the UK, while zero-emission vehicles could support 40,000 jobs. Joining our campaign will help you prepare and find new opportunities.

Be part of the solution

We all want to create a better planet, but it can be hard to know where to start. Through this commitment you can join other businesses, get tips and make a plan.
